new guy here. i recently bought an 09 silverado 1500 with the 6.2L and have been snooping around at what mods are out there. i've been a ford guy for a long time so this is all new to me. i look forward to learning a lot and hopefully getting some good advice from you all.

i am definitely planning on upgrading the exhaust. the stainless works setup is about the best i've seen so far. does anyone know of any other kits that are nice?

i'll eventually put some type of forced induction on the truck. i'm not sure which route, but i'm leaning towards whipple as i have a whipple 3.4 on my drag car that i'm finishing up.

does anyone know of a good tuner in the northern alabama area?

Get a Mangaflow exhaust even if you just weld in a muffler with your stock piping.

Manga Charger TVS 1900 for a stock engine or 2300 if you wanna go further. Alot further. If I was married I would have me a 1900 tommorow.

Black Bear or Wheatley are tops. Das Bear does tours so if he gets close get a spot. Or his website is to the right here. http://www.blackbearperformance.com/

i have a magnaflow and mine doesnt drone at all...but its a 24" long case, it sounds great to me! now the flowshmasher that was on there, thats another story, it sounded good but drone was insane. corsa is a great brand also like magnaflow its a straight through style muffler also.

ARH makes a nice long tube header system for the GMT900 trucks, and you can couple that with a Magnaflow cat back. I drove tdrumm's 03 rcsb with a Magnaflow cat back for a few weeks and it had zero drone. I like the looks of the graphs posted above, but I couldn't get the link to work...could you post the cam specs?

I put ARH headers with cats on my truck and there was no need to change the muffler or exhaust. It is quiet when cruising and loud when you get on it. For normal driving around town, it has a deep throaty sound with a bit of a growl. These were also the easiest set of headers I have ever installed. Piece of cake and the "Y" pipe bolted right up to the stock exhaust. Welcome to PT! Have fun with your new truck. Now that you have a GM, you will probably never look back to Ford.
