New STS times (new tranny time).
The track had trouble with timeslip printing so I only have 2 slips but have the other runs on tape.
1st run: 5psi launch and Bogged off the line. 12psi total
60' 2.14
1/8th: 8.52@87mph
1/4: 13.1 @ 106.5mph
2nd run: 7psi launch and 12psi total
60' 1.81
1/8th: 8.00 @ 86.2mph
1/4: 12.62 @ 105.14mph
All other runs were 12.65@106mph with varying 60's. I never got timeslips for all 3 of those runs. I found out that if I don't launch over 6psi the truck bogs as bad as if I just left off idle.
My trans is toast now. On the 2-3 shift it would take WAAY too long to engage and even when it did it felt like it was struggling. On the way home I tried to floor it in high boost and the rpms flashed to 6k then started bouncing off the limiter, it tired it twice before giving up. I wonder if this is hurting my MPH at the track.
I had to end the night early due to my alternator going out and only seeing 12.5v with the truck running So Brandon pulled some strings and let me make a pass with the big boys so I could hightail it home.
Ohh, and thx for the tip on lowering the front end to curb the bouncing durring hard launches. Worked like a charm.

Nice times! Looks like I'm gonna have to get out there and knock off some low 12's to keep up with you guys.
I would look at the 80e swap costing you about that much over time if you go with a new converter.

Congrats on the times!! That thing is moving!

Flyer, you really think it could cost that much in the long run? Ouch!
I would like to think I am losing time due to the trans. I mean my G-Timer runs went from 12.2s @108mph to 12.6-12.7@105mph since the day I first got the bigger turbo and IC installed But I guess I'll find out when I get a new trans. Until then I'll make no excuses. I'm still happy with the times
I have the wastegate set at about 13psi but depending on temperature and DA I can see anywhere from 12-14psi. Last night I was right about 12psi whenever I looked up at the gauge.
I didn't do the lift blocks yet because I was told I would need 2wd U-bolts to make it work. So right now I have a severe rake but damn if the thing didn't launch baby smooth, even on the 1.81 60'.
The truck with me in it last night was 5100lbs so I still think there is something left in it but it was a blast beating 2 03' Cobras and a few other Fox bodied Mustangs and even a turbocharged Integra (ran 13.1). The people in the stands were going nuts LOL. Imagine if I was running as fast as Parish. They probably would have ceranaded me with roses at on the return road. Hahaha

I got my trans for $1300 which included the inspection cover, stock converter, dipstick, tube and flexplate.
The converter was $750
The bolts for the flex plate and inspection cover, a new rear gasket, rear fluid anmd additive ran up a 100 dollar tab at the dealership.
That puts the tab up to 2150 so far.
Add another 50 for cheap trans fluid, 100 for a shift kit, 50-100 (75 for estimating0 for fab materials, new hoses for trans cooler 50 which all adds up to 275 putting the grand total up to roughly 2475.
Tack another 125 on there for a new yoke on the driveshaft as well as a new fron tu-joint and a rebalance.
Grand total up to 2600. If you did it like me and put new gears and an Eaton Posi in to counter the somewhat high 1st gear the 80e has, you can add another 500 for parts and 200 for labor to get it installed. This is all assuming that you do all the work in getting the trans in there and let someone else do just the gear/diff swap.

Yeah I guess it all adds up fast. Kinda like everything else LOL
I wont be doing gears due to the fact I'm 4wd and it would cost me $1200-1500. And having a turbo they wont really help me anyway. So those costs wont get to me.
I guess it comes down to which one I think will hold up better. Stock 4L80E or built 4L65E? Hmmm
