New Track Times (long)
Went to the Hallsville dragstrip in Texas today around 1:00. When I first got there, I didn't even turn my truck off. I just jumped in line. Anyways, I noticed in the burnout box that my truck temp was a little over the 210* mark! First run = 15.2, when I got done with that run I parked it to let it cool off, cause it was going a little past the 210* mark (I thought it was because of the warm weather). After I turned my truck off, I didn't hear my fans running. I checked all the connections, thinking one might have come loose. Then I found out my fuse to the fans was blown. I let the truck cool off for about 30min. Got back up to race, the temp was about 200*. About halfway through the 2nd run (15.6 @ 91-92mph(weird)-due to overheating!), I looked down at the temp gauge. It was alomost to the 260* mark!!! I was like oh ****. I asked around and found out were the closest auto parts store was and drove about 20 min to get fuse and a couple of spares. Went back to the track, let my truck cool off for about 25 min, running the fans for about 15min. Got another run in, it wasn't a big improvement, but it got me a nice gain considering the warm weather, full weight, and 3/4 tank of gas.
60' - 2.347
1/8 - 9.685 @ 74.61 mph
1/4 - 14.892 @ 94.25 mph
My previous before the fans/crank pulley in cold weather was:
60' - 2.374
1/8 - 9.773 @ 73.90 mph
1/4 - 15.011 @ 94.30 mph
This was full weight and around half a tank of gas.
I finally got into the 14s! With cold weather, I KNOW I could have got a 14.7. Oh well, next time I go to the track, I'll have the Eaton/3.73s. Hopefully if its cold, I'll get a 14.5-14.6. I'm slowly getting there!

Sweet dood! Glad to hear you fialy made it over to Hallsville. What'd you think of the track? I want to go the weekend before the Spring Break shootout to see if I can get some fairly consistant times.
Think you would be up for it?

Flyer: I thought the track was alright. I've heard a lot of good things about the track, like about it hooking-up better. I didn't see any difference from our track (Red River Raceway) as far as that goes, but the workers at Hallsville were alot nicer. The only thing I really didn't like is how small the track was. There wasn't a whole lot of space. I'll definitely be going back though. I won't be able to go to the track because of my work schedule for about 1 1/2 - 2 months I will be getting either my Eaton/3.73s or a converter installed in the middle of spring break week. I really would like to run at the track that weekend, but I doubt I'll be able to put the 150-500 miles on my truck to break in my gears or converter by then. But, if I do, I'll be out there. I might just go and watch, I'll let you know when it gets closer to it
onyx silverado: The cam is working out great. Really starts to get the truck moving around 2500 rpms, the torque is awesome. Below 2500, it feels a little weak (I think thats because of the changing to bigger tires and straight-through exhaust, all done around the same time of the cam swap) It pulls hard all the way to the 5900 shift points. I think the Yank 2400 or 2600 converter would do wonders with the cam. I might need slicks if I get the converter along with the gears! About the cam with FI, what flyer said. Allen @ Futral can get you a custom cam made. If I was gonna get a blower, I'd get the same cam I have now with 114-115 LSA.
Thanks for the comments!

I don't know when I will get to go .. I'm moving this coming weekend back to my dad's house. This unemployment ****'s starting to take a toll on my checkbook. I need some slicks to harness this bad boy. I went and got my tires rotated and balanced today. It starts getting squirly on me under heavy acceleration above 80. I still need to get my billet servos in that I picked up last week too. I was going to do that today, but the weather started looking nasty, so I stopped halfway there and put things back together.
