To much work!! The engine has dish pistons in it so we would have to cut the heads a lot to get the comp ratio up to a reasonable point.
Thanks

The truck - 2004 Silverado 2wd / std cab / short bed
Current mods - lowered 2/4
Stock dyno numbers - 211 rwhp / 283 rwftlbs
Here is what we have slated for the truck:
ET Performance 5.3 liter race heads
APE custom ground Comp Cam's hyd roller camshaft (spec's to follow)
STS turbo kit
STS boost contoller
Meth injection
4L80 trans swap
Yank TRT 3200 HD
Chromemoly driveshaft
Caltrak bars
Dynatech Headers
We will put her back on the dyno after we do the heads and cam this week. To see what we pick up from them. I will post the results as soon as we have them. Once we get the dyno results from the H/C combo we will go ahead and strap the STS to it and see what we can do with that.
Stay tuned, results to start coming!!
Thanks

Well the truck is done, here are the results:
Heads & cam results -
265 rwhp @ 5600rpm
267.5 rwft/lbs @ 4300rpm
Remember, this was also through the 4L80 trans and Yank converter. The cam is a 206/220 @ .050 and .575" lift on a 116LSA. So it's pretty small. The heads are ET Performance 5.3 liters. The truck idles great and you really could consider it a sleeper. The results of the head and cam were better than I expected. I figured that the trans swap and converter would eat up most of the power gains by the H/C.
After we based lined the truck with the H/C we installed the STS turbo kit. The STS kit went on with no problems what so ever, greta kit and great value if you ask me. The STS kit was upgraded with a GT 67 turbo and the methonal injection kit. We also did the A pillar gauges, boost and fuel pressure. Here are the results from the kit.
STS turbo kit results -
408 rwhp @ 5900rpm with 10psi of boost
386 rwft/lbs @ 4600rpm with 10psi of boost
The boost is making 10psi but comes on a little slow. Doesn't really get to 10 psi till the final 1000rpm. Also the converter is a little tight which might be keep us from getting a little more power. We are going to look into a FMIC for it. It will be up to the customer if he wants to go that route. Our inlet air temps were a little high. We were seeing 180 degree's during the pulls. With a intercooler we would lower those drastically which would equal more power. All in all for a 5.3 liter truck I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. The truck is nothing but pure fun to drive on the street!!!
Thanks

Well you are going to get that chance. The customer has given the green light on the intercooler. I will post numbers as soon as we get them.
Thanks
