Newbe here engine swap questions
Some of you might know me from spraying a rediculous amount of nitrous thru my 4.3l and posting my kills. But any ways. Every time i posted there was some body that said "install a v-8 this and that". Well the time has come and the income tax check is in I have one simple question. What is the easiest v-8 swap I have a 1998 chevy pu. 4l60e of course......

IMHO, swapping a V8 into a V6 equipped full size truck is not worth the time, headache, and cost. You will be spending a lot of money to just run as fast as a stock V8 would. I would just trade your truck for one equipped with a 4.8 / 5.3 from the factory, preferably 5.3L, if it were me.

that is exactly right. If you want to keep reliable and decent gas mileage go get a 99-2002 for a good deal and sale the v6. theirs a couple of real nice trucks for sale on here.

I would think the easiest swap would be a 96+ Vortec motor. Shouldn't be too involved, although I'm not too sure what all is involved. The GEN III swap would be a little harder.
There are a bunch of guy who have swapped GEN III motors into their 88-98 trucks at www.ls1truck.com. They might have some insight for you over there.
Good luck!
