Default NGK plug questions

Which is the superior platinum plug? G-Power or VX? http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/product...s/platinum.asp
Not sure which one to choose for my 99 Siverado 5.3? Thanks for the help guys.

I've been looking at those plugs as well. Bosch doesn't seem to fair well in my 5.3 so I'm looking for something else to replace them with. I'd definately stay away from multipronged plugs in the 5.3. I had the +4's in my truck and the unused prongs fouled up and it made my engine miss at 4K rpm plus gave it a dead spot from 4-4.5k rpm.

I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm going iridium this next time. It's down to between the ngk tr55-ix and the denso IT16 which has a u groove in the ground electrode. I'm leaning heavily towards the denso even though it costs twice as much as the ngk. That should stop the eroding electrode problem that I've had with the bosch platinums which caused my gaps to grow in a very short time.

Aren't the regular TR5/TR55/TR6's working out for you guys? LS1's seem to have no problems with those plugs, even on nitrous & blowers..

Hey Primetime, about every how many miles would you say the plugs need to be replaced. Same with the wires. I have 38k and still have stock wires and plugs, mostly because I have never had any problem. Thanks

I had TR5's in mine for 30k gapped at .050. When I canged to TR55's, the gap was at .052. I generally change at 30 to 40k just because they are so cheap. I don't see the need to spend $8.00 a plug or more when you can get them for $2.00 each.
