Default NGK tr-5 plug gap

hi guys,I bought a set of tr-5 plugs for my '02 2500hd.my question is what should they be gaped to?? I did a search and found that some say to use them right out of the box and others say gap them @ .050 or .055.I checked them out of the box and they are like .040.help me out here please.BTW truck is 100% bone stock.

I don't think it will make much of a difference...

I put mine in at .050. Ran them until they were at .060, 20,000 miles later... and then regapped them to the 2004 spec. I forgot what it is right now, but I think it's .040.

I can't really say I remember feeling a difference.

I was kinda thinkin about just gapping them at .050 and split the difference.

I think stock gap is .6 but I could be wrong for the 6.0 motor I wouldnt go more than .6 or less than .5 unless you have raised compression or running nitrous in that case I would get a lower temp plug like a 6 or 7 depending on the shot your running or how much compression you have and adjust the gap from there.

I just read your sig I would go with the factory gap I believe those plugs are almost identical if not the same as the ones gm is using. Ive seen ac delco plugs come out of gmc's that say ngk on the other side

The only thing a .005 or .010 smaller gap on a stock motor will do is possibly cause a random misfire code once in a blue moon. I ran a .055 on my TR5's with no problems.
