Default No Spark Questions

2002 Silverado 1500.
4.3 V6

This is my sisters truck, I really dont know much about it.
I am getting power to the ICM and to the coil, but it will not make spark.
I put a second distributor in and I am pretty sure it is set correctly, but that leads to two questions,... Shouldn't it make spark even if the timing is off? and secondly, could there be a problem in the distributor? (are there different distributors for the V6)

I really dont know where else to start on there,
Any and all help is greatly apprciated.
Thanks alot,
ZACH

Is the coil wire firing? You can have power going to the coil but if its not firing then its the coil. If the coil wire is firing then you will have either a cap/rotor problem or plug wires.

Faulty crank sensor will cause a no spark condition too.

That's what I was about to recommend and yes, even if the distributor is in wrong, it will still throw spark, only at the wrong time.

I would check the ignition control module. When that goes bad there will be spark at the coil but not to the distributor.

If the ignition module is working it will command the coil to fire. The coil is connected to the distributor with the coil wire. How are we loosing spark?
