O2 Simms, & still SES light.
Is there a trick to make O2 simms work? I bought some (part#104047) for my 2000 5.3 and put them on. After installing them I looked at them with the diagnostic part of my predator & they were showing ~420millivolts so I thought cool they work. Then I drove around the rest of the day without a light, the next day when driving around the light came on, WTF.

Check the wires,on the 104047 there is a pink wire in cavity "D" that will match up to the same wire on the
plug. The 104049 is the same but the pink wire is in
cavity "C".The 104049 worked on mine,wires were the same,but I had to cut a small ear off.I've got a 2000 silverado.

I compared the o2 sensors on my truck to the simms I have & the pink wire didn't match, so I swapped the the pink & black wires in the o2 simms & reinstalled. I then drove the truck to the bank to get some mulla mulla and by the time I got home I got a SES light, so I reset the code. Today I am going to drive it around & see if I still get the SES code and if it does I will try disconnecting my battery for an hour to see if that helps.

It lights up all the time, with the key on or the truck running. What color is the plug on the simms, black or white?I would send it back and get a 104049 and cut the small ear off,it should work. But check the wires first and make sure they match, thats what I done.I even put it on my 2002 truck and it worked fine,
The lights are at the oposite end of were the wires go,it looks like a little
bubble in the plastic stuff they use to seal the wires up.

Yea,but wait look at the ears on the 104036 and the 104049.There on the wrong side,I think 104036s are for 96 through 2000 (old body).104049 would work for 2000 and up,dont know about the 99s.You just have to cut the small ear off for the 2000s.
