Official NBS V6 to GENIII V8 swap Guide

1. Is the EVAP hose that leads back to the tank. On the V8's the 3/8th feed line and the EVAP line come up together on the rear of the motor.
2. That is just the breather for the transmission, they place it there so it's far above the fluid level to vent it and to not get crap around it and plug it up.

So am I going to have to plumb this to something since my v6 doesn't have this (from what I can see)?

2000 6.0 lq4
Hello-I bought a 2000 6.0 for the Silverado. casting numbers on block are legible for referencing. How can I find out what year this 6.0 is for absolute sure and how do I find out the designation....LQ4 , LQ9 ect? I want to be sure I order the correct adapter conversions for the wiring harness. Thanks.

I'm in the process of a similar setup to yours. My truck is a 2005 4.3/5 speed. I'm putting a 2001 6.0l/4l80e. Did you have to have your ecm flashed or tuned for it to start and run? How did you re-pin connectors, have a diagram or something that you followed.
Thanks in advance

Replacing 4.3(2001) with a 400 SBC??? Details on intake/trans/cyl head options??
I own a 400 SBC, (have parts for 377 build) looking to remove the 4.3L engine from my 2001 Chevrolet pick up... Obviously there's interchangeable parts when going to a 5 3/5.7 but is there any way to fit newer model factory intake to engine? Older heads not compatible? I haven't purchased heads yet, but curious if it's even a possible match. Bell housing match? Any info appreciated, as it's an uncommon block to try to assemble with newer model top ends??

read through the whole forum im am performing this swap right now and ran into an issue i have a 2003 silverado extra cab short bed and i am outting in a 5.3 from a 2005 silverado.. i am trying to make it drive by cable like my v6 was so i purchased a harness from a 2000 cable driven silverado. one of the connectors under the fuse box does not match, it could connect if the key ways were cut off but i dont know if it would still work. so should i cut off the keyways or go through the hassle of switching the entire harness to dbw
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Great info on this thread! I was looking for any info on swapping a 6.0 and a 6 speed manual trans into an 03-07 silverado 1500. I haven't gotten the truck or any parts yet I'm just in the dreaming stage. Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
