but the 5.7 is a Gen 1 SBC setup just like the 4.3, whereas the 4.8, 5.3, LSX454, etc are all Gen 3 setups which are completely different.
either way, your 03 ain't an OBS truck like the video is made for; it's a NBS.

I realize this is a “engine swap” post, but being that it’s exactly what I am doing I have a question.

The front suspension as stock.... did the v6 truck come with different coil spring weight than the typical v8 trucks? Mine pre swap already seems to sit a little low in the front. No complaints from me tho! Once I swap the 6.0 and all of its turbo system hardware, I’d expect it to sit even lower. My thoughts were not to do any type of drop on the front and simply remove the middle leaf on the rear to gain the desired ride height I wanted. If the spring weight/rate is much different than a v8 factory front end, will I have issues??? Goal is to have a streetable daily that’ll make occasional track passes, therefore the front suspension needs to participate in that game plan.

Any my help would be appreciated
thanks

If you are running an iron block 6.0 it's around 75lbs heavier than the 4.3. If it's a LS2 aluminum 6.0 it's about the same as the 4.3 Vortec. I couldn't tell much difference in height after the swap but I'm running aftermarket 2" drop (2" spindle) front springs.

To all of the gurus out there that have came before me.. here is the dilemma that I'm in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've swapped the 4.3 to the 5.3 and got it in and did wired in the engine tied it into the stock 4.3 fuse block and im not getting the engine to crank at all. Dl you guys have any ideas what it could be the starter is good and I hear my injectors but no crank to the engine.

Could be a couple of things. But with out some more details It's like throwing darts blindfolded.

For starters, What year is the truck?

What do you mean "I got it wired in"? Did you use a V8 harness?

What about the PCM? Was it set up for a V8?

Sorry about that here is the info it's a 03 Silverado I bought a wrecked 03 suburban swapped the engine put the v8 harness on it seed straight forward but now when I turn the key to the run position I hear the pump and relays then I turn it to the start position and the starter doesn't turn over. For the time being I'm using a flashed pcm out of my 82 5.3 swapped truck

Did you try with the 03 suburban PCM ?

What year is the 82 swap truck PCM ?

Are the grounds from the harness connected at the back of the block?

Yes 3 Ground wires.

I am not sure if there is any difference between a V6 fuse box and the V8. Did you full seat the connector and bolt it down under the fuse box?
Maybe check and make sure you didn't bend a pin. I have done that before.

Try the V8 fuse block from the suburban?
