Official NBS V6 to GENIII V8 swap Guide

I bought an complete running 05 suburban dbw and gonna swap into a 03 4.3 nnbs dbc. Other than the obvious like tune, headers, fuel lines, etc... is there anything else I need. I noticed there is no hole for the dbw to come through the firewall like the suburban?

The engine harness will work for your swap You may need 2wd or 4wd V8 engine mount brackets. You didn't post if your Silverado is 2wd or 4wd, the brackets are different between the two. I'm not sure if the brackets are the same on the SUV's and the trucks. You may find the answer in this (long) thread. The V6 brackets will not work BUT some say the Silverado V6 2wd passenger bracket will work. I replaced both with new ones so I'm not sure. After you pull the engine out of the burb you can match the brackets and part numbers with the info in this thread.

If your planning on using the v6 PCM the 02 harness will not work as it is blue/red and your v6 pcm is blue/green. I would suggest sourcing an 03-06 harness and pin out for the IAC and TPS sensors. LT1Swap.com has a lot of info on this. Also if your considering swapping a 4l80e trans look for a 2500 or express van 6.0 harness this will have the correct plugs for the 4l80e.

So, I have a 2000 RCSB 4.3 5 speed rwd and a 2005 Crew cab 5.3 4wd auto. both running and driving, and I want to swap the 5.3 into the 2000. Beings I have everything necessary for both of them to run will I need to buy anything at all? I figured i can just replace the 4.3 mounts with the 5.3 mounts. I wondered though about the computer, can I just swap in the 5.3 ecu, pcm, etc with the engine and it will work fine? I wondered about going from auto to manual trans if some connectors on the wiring harness will be wrong. Or if I could swap the auto trans into the 2000 and just ditch the t case and keep the pickup rwd?

pretty much all of that's answered in this thread.
going from an 05 to a 00, you'd also have to swap the electronic gas pedal over; the 2WD & 4WD frame sides of the engine mounts are different; a 4WD transmission is a different length than a 2WD, so that's not a direct swap either.
happy reading - there's a lot to double-check & verify before you start.

great thread I'm slowly putting together my parts for my 2005 w/t 2wd 4.3/4l60 v8 swap.
I picked up a lq4/4l80 out of a 2004 3500 chevy express. my truck and the lq4 is drive by cable. What would be the easiest harness that would be plug and play?
