on the nitrous runs my a/f ratio wasn't so smooth, about 12.5-1 in 1st then 11-1 in 2nd and 10.5-1 in 3rd so i was prety rich by the end.

hey Butch, sounds interesting, i would like to see this bulb.

Doing some checking on smokem.com and was trying to figure out how much quicker my truck would be running in 2wd with slicks... best run was in 4HI at 14.1@95.5 With some slicks and 2WD it should of neted a 13.8@97.5mph Used 20% loss for 2WD and 25% loss for 4HI. Used the mph and et hp automath to figure it out

Parish8 with some slicks you should be able to knock off .2-.3 off your times

Hey BigTex, and parish8.. I follow along at a lot of the performance sites, just to see what others are up to... I think this is one of the better ones.., and Yeah I know Gandy from the Avalanche site..., He's working on getting the 8.1 to move these Big things... Anyway I see someone posted Design Engineering Inc. web addy... The cryo bulb is 3 inches long by 1 1/4 inch in Dia. Its aerodynamically designed so it doesn't cause much restriction in the intake tube...... According to them it only causes a 3% drop in flow in a 2 1/2 inch dia. tube.., thats exactly what the Whipples inlet tube measures.... I did port the inlet bell as much as I could to help out though.... The system uses regular Co2..., you can get the bottle filled at any Welding supply house, and its cheap... Ive adapted an Nx nitrous remote bottle opener onto mine so I can control it from in the cab... There engineer said that you dont need to run the bottle wide open to get the full cooling effect, so I have mounted a throttling valve on mine and a gauge.., He said one turn on the bottle is all thats need for full cooling effect, and to save Co2.., at this amount of bottle opening it will last for 5 minutes..., and yes it will work fine down stream of an intercooler..., they also make an intercooler spray bar for chilling the intercooler.... You can gang all three devices togther off of the same solenoid... Cooler Bulb, Fuel Chiller, and the Intercooler Spray bar, simply by jumping from one to the other with -4 braided hose.., and it doesn't use anymore Co2 than using just one device.

My hope is I can make more power without having to add anymore Water/Alky or Nitrous...., Im already at Max boost for this engine, and the Whipple and I dont want to add a larger shot of nitrous... My hope is to break into the 12s..., with the 5.3 and the weight of this truck it would be a good feat.., the engine is basically stock, I have done heads and SLP 1.85 rockers, custom air intake system that I made from a Volant box with a larger filter than the standard volant filter, Long tube Headers and exhaust, and a Walbro high pressure in tank pump.

My side project is a Stroked 6.0 im working on though., a little at a time as money permits..., ill take some pics of the Cryo install, and try to figure out how to post them here when Im done with it.

Butch.
