Default Oil Change time. Any advice???

Well it is time to change my oil. I need to know what oil filters you guys suggest and what oil.
It is a 99 5.3 with k&n air filter and flowmaster dumps.

I have heard about this stuff called lucas you put your oil in and then add one bottol of this instead of you last deal of regular oil.
I have also heard of oil called Royal Purple.
Any thing will help. Just need some advice on what to use and what not to use. Oh also my truck is just a little over 50,000

Thanks
Christopher

i run whatever is on sale. mobil, valvoline, etc... if 5W30 if $1 per quart or less, i will buy it as long as it is a brand name.

as for a filter, i've used PF59 AC delco, but they are hard to find in my area. so i use other brand names with the last four digits being 3675

Mobil 1 5W-30

I even stuck the Corvette Mobil 1 5W-30 Label on the front of the engine compartment to remind me....lol!

I also got the Mobil 1 Oil Cap (comes on Corvette's as well) stating the oil to use.

Did the same - looks good on there - I liked the factory fill wording....
