My god is the valve train suppose to be this loud. It sound like a 5 foot 2 blonde in a Ron Jeremy porno. The computer is taking to it slowly. We had to move the bump stop up on the throttle body to get it to idle. i was told there really isnt a way to set the valves on this. I torqued the rocker arms to 22lbs. Did I miss something. She runs like a fricking beast up top but i did lose my bottum end. Time for a stall and 3.73's i guess

My cousin just bought the higher lift version of that cam.How high do you have to rev the motor to get into the powerband.His truck is an extended cab with 4.10 gears so maybe he won't miss the lowend power. Did the valves quiet down any after the truck came up to temperture.

the power really kicks in at 3000rpm. The valves have not gotten any quieter at all. kinda sound like the bitch was started with out oil.

Sounds like a 2600 or 3000 stall and 4.10 gears wood do the trick.You might even get away with a little higher hp spray with the lowered static compression from the bigger cam.

aww dude, I know exactly what you are talking about with the valve noise. When I did my swap at first I thought, okay well it just needs to pump oil up through the pushrods and it will quiet down - nope. What you are hearing is probably normal. Do you have Comp918s? I switched from the 918s to '01 LS6 valve springs and things quieted down a lot. I am not sure this would be a good idea with your higher lift cam (i only lift .500)
You cannot do lifter preload on the stock rockers, and 22lbs. is the correct torque specification for the rockers.

I am going with either a 3200 or a 3000. Ryan I want to thankyou for having those pics. We looked at them a couple of times before we did this. I took quite a few myself to post. I took alot of the 600 or more horse 300zx he built with 22lbsof boost. Crank trigger and all that.
