There are dozens of muffler threads for suggestions. Performance wise any Free Flow designed muffler. Meaning you can see through it.
After that it's all a matter of opinion and what you think sounds best.
I read your post a few times before reading the comments and had also picked the 220. I have a 216/220 and I want to go bigger. I daily drive mine 100miles a day.
+1 on losing the flowmaster. You don't want a chambered muffler if you plan to make power.
made 400 through my flows...LOTS of people making WAY MORE power than that through flows...
Exactly. You don't need to believe us, try a search in the forums and you should find real dyno runs that prove flowmasters loose hp. I've seen a few.
Most people aren't goin to notice a difference of 5hp or so. If you're makin big horsepower, maybe...400 or less, doubtful. Not sayin flowmaster is the best by any means, but I love the sound and I'm not gonna swap them for minimal gains
Ill disagree and say the 224/224 cam just go to a little bigger converter, and the mileage shouldn't be any different than the 220/3000 setup if tuned properly. You'll thank yourself in 6 months when you want something bigger.
