Default Okay, decision is made

Going to cut this Magnacrap off and put on some Pypes Street Flo mufflers. I like what I have heard for sound clips, now, what I would like to figure out is tone vs. flow (backpressure) issue. I am trying to keep/gain some backpressure over the magnaflow. I lost a noticeable amount going to that muffler.

What do you think would be better, two 2.5" street flows, or one 3"? Something tells me that the one 3" will be deeper than I want, and just **** me off.

Can someone help me?

Yeah man. I am trying to catch your blistering 60'. When I took off the stocker and put on the magnaflow I felt a loss on the low end. That's the opposite of what I am trying to do, so I figure a little bit of backpressure won't hurt to much. I don't do the high rpms very much, so I feel that will see more benefit from more tq down low, as opposed to higher rpm hp. What style muffler do you think I should go for, given the goal, (2) 2.5", or (1) 3"?

I believe "back-pressure" is a myth. You want an exhaust that will draw spent gasses from the cylinder as efficiently as possible but given your line of thinking then a single 3".
You know I went the other direction, my exhaust is as open as I could get it.

I agree somewhat with the free flowing exhaust, and in your application, FI, you make tq by other means. On my NA setup, tq is a bit harder to come by, as you know. Free flowing would be good if I was looking for top end gains, but I want bottom end power. I can't argue with the fact that I lost tq (or maybe moved the tq higher in the band) by removing backpressure (even though I gained hp), I would like to use the muffler to bring my tq back down lower, where it was. So you say a 3", is that just based on max cfm comparison b/t (1) 3" and (2) 2.5"?
