Why did you go with those instead of true lt headers?

Longtubes give the most gains mid-top end. The Tri-Y design as well as the length of the primaries on these were designed to give great torque (which you lose with LT's) and hp up through the midrange. Top end will be unaffected, but my top end is fine the way it is. Our trucks are heavy...the more torque, the better.

I wouldn't be too sure that the length of the primaries were sized to produce the most torque, you'll notice that they fit just perfectly infront of the cats. Take a true 32'' long tube header like the LG Pros for the Corvettes... These bad boys make some torque... On a '01-'04 ZO6 some of the guys are showing a 40TQ gain.

Shorter primaries are usually tuned to make power within a certain range at higher RPM. There are header primary calculators all over the internet.

Now, if the Tri-Y stuff really works... I don't know... If it does make more torque... That's a plus for sure.

BTW, I'm using those headers.

Isnt the Tri-Y designed to benifit due to and engineered for the firing order?Look at these and look at the old SBC tri-Ys the old engine has a different firing order does this Y differnt than the old pipes?

They are a follow-the-firing-order,almost-true 180 degree header from what I've heard/read. They are supposed to give better torque gain than a non tri-y header of the same length. I read that they were designed for trucks and motor homes to give them some extra pull.

Damn those are

J/K

I'm sure they will be a nice addition to the truck.

The truth is, noone has any dyno info at 2000rpm for these different headers.
The only pacesetter dyno with 2000 rpm I've seen is from a LS1 and the torque was exactly the same as stock. Then again, who knows how well these are tuned before and after.
We need a decent comparison and dyno results at low rpm.

I just got my pacesetters from jethot today.
I may dyno it after they are on, but won't be able to get a before dyno to compare.

I can't believe it's taken 7 years to get as little decent header info as we have.
