Default ORY or X pipe?

I am getting some LT headers on my 2005 HD and was wondering if I would be better off with the ORY or a X pipe I will be doing a custom exhaust so I can do either one with bullet mufflers. Thanks For any help

The ORY pipe is just 2 smaller diameter pipes that merge to from 1 pipe larger pipe that goes back your muffler. ORY usually means that there are no cats on the y pipe.

An x-pipe is used to balance out exhaust pulses. You need true duals to have an x-pipe that is functional. The best place for an x-pipe is close to where the 2 pipes meet. Usually on the passenger side underneath the cab.

Since you have a 2500HD with a 6.0, you probably dont have a y-pipe. You have 2 seperate pipes that run parallel down the length of the passasenger side of the truck and merge after the muffler.

A ORY pipe will probably give you more power than an x-pipe since cats are a restriction. The more power you make, the more power you will lose through your cats.
