what cai would you recommened? I am new to the chevy family, I swiched over from dodge (dakota r/t and then a rcswb 1500 hemi). I am not looking for major mods just cai and exhaust. I am used to k&n and flowmaster on my dodges.

get one with a closed filter element and a dry, no oiled filter. any cai like that will give the same gains, or if you want you can make your own.

the best mods for mpg are a tune and a set of efans\

btw most will bash if you mention putting a flowmaster on your truck

well I average 19mpg and the 06 comes with efans. I just wanted to shake the extra 1mpg out of it to make it 20 on the highway. and what is wrong with flowmaster? what sounds the best on these 5.3L?

That's pretty subjective. I like Borla others like Magnaflow, everyone loves Corsa. Flowmaster is kinda tagged for being restrictive but I couldn't tell ya.

I like deep and powerful and I hate raspy. I have listened to corsa on a 05 gto and it sounded like crap. what do they sound like on a stock truck. if flowmaster is restrictive then I will not go that route. anyone got sound clips that would make my choice easier?

Here I have a Single Chamber Flowmaster on my truck. I will be installing my Pacesetter LT's and ORY in a couple of weeks. Then I will post another vid. Sorry if the vid is a little long.
