[QUOTE=02sierraz71_5.3]If you have to hook up a timing light to each plug wire and try and get it to misfire.QUOTE]
How should I try and get it to misfire and what should I look at? Yeah I talked to Allen yesterday and he said when it throws that code that it will unlock the converter. Just wish I could figure out what the hell is going on.

You could just shut the hood and run the timing light wires thruogh the window so you can hold the trigger and watch the light while you drive. I've done it before...but better than you probably could.

Anybody else with some useful info? Do you think it could be tuned out? Maybe since the new converter is a alot looser it is causing this problem because that is all that has changed from when it was running good and to how its running now.

check both the crank and cam sensors you may have cracked either one while moving the trans around. the older these get the more brittle the become. grab both tops of the sensor and shake them. hope this helps.

Default Tech2 Data Recording Needed.

Sounds like you need a dealership tech to hook up a Tech2 data recorder and get the lowdown. It may be a bad part or just a crankshaft position relear needed?

Already took it to the dealer they couldnt tell me anything more than it had random misfires on all cylinders. How do you do the crankshaft relearn thing? I have seen it on here multiple times.

The only way to do a crank relearn is with a tech 2 I believe. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Where are the cam sensor and crankshaft sensor located? I may just go ahead replace them while I do the cam swap and stuff tomorrow.

DUDE DON'T JUST CHANGE SENSOR THAT CAN COST U A ARM AND A LEG. DO THIS TAKE OFF ALL UR BELTS AND SEE IF U CAN MOVE THE CRANK IN AND OUT (PUSH & PULL)TO SEE IF THE NEW CONVERTER WOULD BE BALLONING ON YOU AND IT WOULD PUSH ON THE THRUST BEARING AND WOULD GIVE YOU A MISS FIRE @ TIMES.IT SHOULD BARLY MOVE IN AND OUT.

Why would the converter already be ballooning cause I havent even sprayed on it yet. I guess you are talking about pushing and pulling on the harmonic balancer right?
