Pacesetter headers into 06 GMC 6.0 HD
Just bought brand new 06 GMC Sierra 6.0 HD Crew Cab last month. Have a pair LS2 heads casting 243 with yellow springs and Z06 cam, 160 thermostat ready to install. Anyone ever done this swap yet and installed pacesetter headers (pn 70-2265) on it? I called pacesetter and they said they had not installed this headers on 06 GMC sierra 6.0 HD yet. Thanks

honestly, i think you need to do more research before you commit to putting those parts on your truck. the heads you have on there flow extremely well, so the 243 heads really arent necessary unless you want to up the compression ratio a bit. the cam is decent and will give you more top end power, but there are better cams for the money, such as an ms3 or tsp torquer 2 cam. and dont do the tstat. it's a waste of money and will only lower your gas mileage. these engines are built to run at higher temps, and as long as you get the truck dyno tuned after the mods you will have no detonation and no need for the tstat. the headers are good choice though, best bang for your buck on the market as far as headers go. looks like it's going to be a sweet truck though, enjoy!

If the ones you have are made for the 4.8 and 5.3, they wont fit on yours.

Is it a matter of the exhaust system? Cause all LSx's have the same exterior dimensions. I would think that someone going with pacesetters would want to do something custom for the rest of their exhaust.

Early LQ4, which is what the book is probably base on (time wise), were sucky. But since 2001 all LQ4/LQ9 have the 317 heads, which are large chambered 243 heads pretty much. So as said, your gain will only be in the CR. Also realize that those results realistically will be achieved with tuning.
As for the Pacesetters fitting 2006 6.0L, they will. They will fit upto 2007 classic models, not sure about the new GMT-900 though.

i've seen people get over 50hp from just a cam, tuned. and that's not a radical cam either, i'm talkin like 224's. i just think you will be dissapointed with your decision after you have spent all that money for not very much gain.
