Default Are Patriot Gold Duals Too Much???

I am planning on running an aftermarket cam on my 5.3L by comp or lunati. The comp cam lift is like .529 and the lunati is like .535. I don't know which one I am going with yet, but I was wondering if it was possible to over-spring a cam? Would the patriot duals be too much spring for a cam around the lift listed above? Would it hurt anything too go with springs that stiff on a somewhat smaller cam?

No, I don't feel as though you'd be over-springing your combo. My question is why such a stiff spring?

Well for starters the duals come with titanium retainers, locks, and all new seals. Plus I figured it would be safer to run the duals? I figured the duals would last longer than beehive springs as well? These are all assumptions of course. If their are any other thoughts feel free to chime in.

While yes of course they are more than you need, but if you believe for what ever reason that you may catch the mod bug like alot of us and will end up changing the cam again in the future, at least you will have the spring swap out of the way. The springs, next to the crank bolt is the biggest pain anyway. Now if this was an old school flat tappet motor, then no - never over spring, as you would have a good chance of flattening a lobe early,

ls6's are good up to .580 lift if you get the right color(blue or yellow, i forget) still leaves room to grow if you ever want to upgrade to a more mild cam

ls6 springs lack spring pressure. Lift is not the problem.

do a search on them.
