Just swapping those heads on will bump the compression ratio up to around 9.7:1. That's assuming a stock 5.3L bottom end, gaskets, and old combustion chamber size of 61cc.

yeah the bottom end and everything is stock....do you guys think these heads would do good on this motor...as far as power i think i could gain a good 30hp to the rear wheels

What size valves do they have? You might want to check and make sure they'll be Ok with the smaller 5.3L bore size.

If the valves will fit then I think you'll pick up a nice amount of power.

Yeah, I think that is too big. The stock bore size is only 3.78" and those valve are nearly that big without any space in between them and beside them accounted for. Even if they did fit the cylinder would be shrouding the vavle pretty bad which would hurt flow.

You could always bore out the motor to 5.7L specs and get some forged 5.7L pistons or even some stock 5.7L pistons. Those heads would work great on that setup. Stock LS1 pistons with that setup would be around 11.3:1cr. You'd need 6-7cc valve reliefs to get down to around 10.5:1 on that setup.

read this thread. we were talkin about the 5.3 PP heads at first. then we start talkin about the LS6/LQ9 59CC heads about in the middle. still not sure if they'll work, but thought this might give you some more details...
