Default PCM reflash / Edit

If I reflash the PCM, will I lose the ability to use my LS1 Edit. Has anyone ever done it, or will I have to buy a new license? I asked about it in the PCM section, but thought I would ask here also. When I tuned the truck with Edit, I had the predator program on the truck. I never got a copy of the base line factory tune. If anyone has a file of a stock 2000 4.8 they can send me, that would be great too.

You should be fine....as long as you dont change the Vin#.....and I dont think you can without the proper software.

not positive, but if you reinstall the pred base tune you should be able to restore your factory tune from there with the pred. When i got my hpt's i copied the pred tune then used pred to set back to factory and then copied factory tune. once i had the factory tune saved i flashed the pcm with the pred tune i had copied and went from there. hope what i said makes sense.

The problem is the Predator was never able to put my stock tune back on. Don't know why, but it just wouldn't.

You can have the dealer or a shop put the current GM tune back on with a TECH2 or similar device. They will need your VIN and a list of what options your truck came with. Then they can upload a stock base tune for your truck that has current big fixes as well.

So I can still use my LS1edit without having any problems?

ZDEN: It's been so long, I forgot the screens and what the options were. But I do remember messing with it on several occasions.

There is a code in the PCM that it locks to also and that's what I am worried about.
