Default PCM? Tried searching but still confused...

Ok I've read through tons of old threads but still confused on this whole PCM swapping and tuning deal. So bare with me.

I have a 99' that I want to tune either via mail order or HPTuner.

Everyone says swapping to a 02' PCM is the way to go so my question is this; do I have to actually physically get a 02' PCM or can I get a mail order tune or HPTuners to turn my 99' PCM into a 02' PCM?

Also are there custom made files for HPT that I can just download in so I can save some time and then just fine tune it?

Thanks for any help.

Ya gotta get a true to life 02 PCM. A 99 PCM flashed with 02 updates aint gonna cut it.
