hey corey, i have ran my 706 casting 5.3 heads on my lq9 the cr came out to around 12:5:1 if not mistaken, ( from richard ) ran 93 octane and on a agressive tune, this is when i was working at bayer bms in baytown which is 70 miles one way from where i live i woud drive 2 to 3 times a week without issues..

the came was a 232/238 61x/60x lift cam with a 112 +2 lsa the dcr was 8:5:x the cam i have now is a 235/239 62+/62+ lsa 113+1 the dcr is 8:0:5 with a 11:1 cr

my numbers are real world numbers i would drive it on friday race it at hrp then drive home not bad for a dailydriver

No problem with running in the 11.x:1 compression for a daily. I ran my 6.0 with 12.0:1 compression and 93 octane with 29* max timing. Cam was a 232/242 on a 115+4. The only KR issues i had was when I first tuned it in. The WB was reading 1.5 points off and what I thought was 12.6 was really in the 14's. Yeah it didn't like that. Put it on a dyno and tuned in AF and all was well. I beat the crap out of that 6.0. Since then I pulled it out and used it for my 404 build. It's also close to 12:1 with a 260/267 114+4 cam. Its happy too. Pump gas on the motor and a torco mix in the standalone for the spray.

Thanks for the input, i appreciate it. I am after a really torquey truck, that has a smooth idle and will work well with a 3-3200 TC... I am thinking about picking up Cody's cam in the classifieds. it is 226/230 .598/.600 116+1, with my PRC heads and a .060 headgasket the motor specs are: -4* overlasp, CR 11.5 and DCR 8.54. Those are not exact but close. I figure it will make good TQ down low and have a very smooth idle...

What are yall's thoughts?

I like your thinking, your specs sound good i myself would pick the cam on a 114lsa... but other than that looks like you have been doing your homework good.

Well the wife wants todo some big upgrades to the house so that took away my race money... So I have all these parts now, so i was thinking about putting them to use... I dunno i still haven't decided on what i want to do, it will mainly depend on how happy i am with the motor swap the way it sits now...
