Performance Gas mileage
I know the talk is always about performance but with these gas prices I need some info on how to get performance gas mileage. Also, how do I stop the valves from clacking when I run 87 without increasing the octane?

Re: Performance Gas mileage
You are NOT going to get 25-30 mpg in you truck. With all of my mods, ie: whipple, converter, and the rest, I see about 15city/19hwy.
The newer engines intake and exhaust are pretty efficient from the factory, so there will not be huge gains by them, but their might be some.

Re: Performance Gas mileage
buy an f-body. you will never get that kind of gas mileage from what you have. when my truck was completely stock with a k@n filter and a dynomax muffler it would get about 18-20 mpg, and that is the best it's been.

Re: Performance Gas mileage
i drive the dog **** out of my truck and don't have to fill up that often. usually about every week to week and a half. my drive to school or work isn't very far but i do som extracaricular driving also. so if you are having that bif of a problem you need to get out of the performance scene and get into a civic or something. ofcourse with that 4.8 a civic isn't that far from what you already have.
