Default Pickin up a 4.8 truck. Parts for best MPG?

Found a cheap daily driver 02 4x2 Sierra the other day at the dealership im gonna go put money down on tomorrow. i got a couple $$$ saved away for initial mods when i get it, so what yall recomend for best gas mileage? I got maybe, idk, 4-500 to spend after i get the truck? i know im gonna need a tune to correct the speedometer for the 18s i got for it off my las truck, so count that in.

What are yall seein for 4.8 mpg lately? any chance of 20mpg?

Mileage depends on type of driving(highway/city), terrain(hilly, mountain, flat) and how far you push that pedal.

For me i wanted the performance and got improved mileage, the problem is it will take along time for that 2-3mpg to pay off.

they get very good mileage right off the bat. A custom tune by Charlie Wheatley will improve MPGs as well. My 6.0 ecsb 2wd gets 23 on the highway. 3.42 rear gears.

Ahhhh im going crazy. too excited about gettin a new truck i cant sleep

window sticker said 3.73:1 final drive gears, think that be ok with 30 in tires?

whats a good truck bump stick [cam] for towing a jet ski around couple times a month during warmer moons? i know its just a 4.8 but i hope it does better then the 4.3 i had in my old silverado 5 speed. that pig got me around for 18mpg or so but was on its last leg if ya know what i mean

edit; i figure if im goin to pay for a tune might as well do the top end before the tune right?

Well the search button will be your friend!
It will greatly outperform your 4.3.
I would do a tune from the start check with our sponsors, they will work with you(Nelson, Wheatly)
I have 3.73 and a 30.5 inch tires and it does really well

tune and pulley will get you good MPG gains. efans are pretty good for city driving, but wont see much MPG gain on the highway.
