Default Pics of some bad brakes

change out my rear rotors and pads today. they were in bad shape. here are some pics. this is after 57,500 miles

check out the chunks that have rusted out on this rotor.
one brake pad was worn to the metal on the passenger side. the one on the drivers side still had some life left

alot better. i don't have to push the pedal to the floor anymore. the truck stops with ease now. front one are still stock. they still look like they got some life left. no more whining or chirping noise. plus looks alot better. cost me about $300.

For the rotors or with pads? I spent 450 at gm for rear pads and rotors, slight discount too. Got bent over but had to, had no choice in the matter. My fronts look like that when I had to change my lf wheel hub a couple weeks ago. So I will prolly go with those. Where did you get those?

$306 for both rear rotors and pads, and shipping from www.truckperformance.com

i said to myself i would never buy from them again since they had poor customer service, but i can't pass up their prices. went to my dealer and they told me that one rear rotor was like $220. screw that.

Yeah thats my though too. I ultimately want the eradispeed+1 kit but then I would need 18's. So big expense there. Rather go faster first. Nice fishies btw on the other post.

i hate to put real exspensive brakes on my trucks for a few reasons. i do a little offroading and the mud is not good for any brake setup. plus they salt the hell out of the roads here in the winter. finally, who knows when i am getting rid of the truck for a ne wone.

thanks for the compliments on the fishies

Do you do a lot of heavy towing or are those mostly city miles instead of highway? That appears to be abnormal wear for only 57K mi. I have 50K currently and both front and rear barely show signs of any wear. I bought a set of HAWK pads for the front a while back, but judging from the wear I have so far I'll be well over 150K before I need them. I do mostly highway miles so that must make a big difference. The kind of wear you have at 57K mi. must be from a heavy dose of city driving or towing a big trailer down a mountain.
