Thanks... I guess... But I'd rather not be. Mine's not as bad as yours. Does you truck make that noise when warm at idle, that's what mine does.

I think I'll run the 10/30 for the next 3k, then switch it back up to the 5/30 and see if there is any change. Most likely it won't. Oh well, at least I have 26,000 more miles to go on my warrenty, so if anything goes bad I'm still covered.

Jeff

Merry Christmas you guys.

Well, selling it is not really an option even thought its already paid off. It seems that this noise is really common and it shouldn't effect longevity of the motor. I'm just unhappy with the noise and with gm. I'm really not sure I'm going to buy another domestic after this.

Maybe I'm asking for too much, I mean it took 6 years to come up with a replacement for the steering shaft clunk and they are still working on the slap noise.

Ok, got to run... the wife is telling me it's time to go to the gym...

I have looked at the 05's and test drove a couple and they still have "piston slap". They all say at the "stealership", thats what the motor is soposed to sound like.

hey, on a positive note, it seems that the more miles I put on this oil (close to 100 now) the quieter it gets. I can't explain it, it just is.
