Hey guys i followed the cookie crumbs over here from LS1Tech. We're in the middle of a high end build and thought you guys would like to see some photos.
FAST 90mm intake
External image of it
Look how much volume is in there....DAMN!!!
our rods
We're using Diamond pistons that we sent out to have the skirts coated with Teflon and the tops coated with ceramic
here you can see the Teflon coating
We went with Crane Gold Race rocker arms
Heres a head with Ferrea valves
Heres the Crane double roller
The Crane bumpstick
The block with the ARP mainstuds installed
and the side view of the block.
We have alot more pix coming and will have video of it on the engine dyno real soon. Any comments and/or questions are appreciated

Everything is brand new with this motor. It's replacing a 5.3 that puked on us. So we decided to go piece by piece and build a new 6.0. It will have a ATI procharger strapped to it pushing somewhere in the neighborhood of 14psi. The heads are 317 cast and they flow comparable to leading manufacturers heads after we had portwork done to them. Heres the cam specs:

Valve Setting: Intake .000 Exhaust .000 HOT

Lift: Intake @Cam 3241 @Valve 551 All Lifts are based
on zero lash and theoretical rocker arm ratios.
Exhaust @ Cam 3241 @Valve 551
Rocker Arm Ratio 1.70

Cam Timing: TAPPET @.004
Lift: Opens Closes ADV Duration
Intake 25.0 BTDC 73.0 ABDC 278.0 °
Exhaust 78.0 BBDC 28.0 ATDC 286.0 °

Cam Timing: TAPPET @.050
Lift: Opens Closes Max Lift Duration
Intake (2.0) ATDC 38.0 ABDC 110 216.0 °
Exhaust 52.0 BBDC (8.0) BTDC 120 224.0 °

It's a 2004 e-cab Z71. If this one turns out well we'll start doing this a crate motor. We're using a ATI D1SC with around 14psi, custom intercooler piping, a Greddy Type RS bov, Snow meth injection, Stainless Works headers, Corsa exhaust, and we use HP Tuners to tune with. Should have it all tuned on the engine dyno before we put it in the truck. Then we have to start building a tranny..lol

How much hp are you expecting out of the combo? And if you do end up selling it as a crate motor would you offer in a na app. Approx. price?

We're looking in the neighborhood of around 700bhp. We're looking at doing na and fi crate motors. We're still looking at pricing so i don't want to say anything just yet. For a na motor we'd put in different pistons to bump up the compression and a different cam. We'd put in a cam that would get a good reversion effect for a lil bump in horsepower. All of our crate motors would be broke in on the dyno and you would receive the dyno sheet of what bhp that particular engine makes. You would also receive a listing of all the tolerances and weights of the reciprocating mass. We're quite anxious to get this finished up(still waiting on a few parts to get back from the coaters).

Hey, I have a 04 Z71 EC with a D1, how about you just put that motor in mine? I was going to try a cam and 6.0 heads with maybe 12 psi to see what I get, I am running 10 now. What did you have running on the 5.3? What were the numbers? I wouls also like to see what you do with your intercooler piping and mounting. I have mine between the bumper and frame with a scoop.

You'd get better performance numbers in a rcsb Z, in fact I know someone who may let you use theirs.
Nice looking motor, plan to do one myself in the not so distant future.
