Default Please Help

i have a 2005 silverado ss. i cut the stock muffler off and rocked that for 2 years sounding pretty goood. then had cat issues so i cut them off and had a daul in daul out x pipe magnaflow muffler installed and dumped with 2.5 inch piping .

idle was nasty, rev up to. then pulled out and from 2500 to 3k had the worst redneck cracking popping noise everrrrr. besides that sounded great except when you floor it it did it too but louder.

so i go back have dynomax bullets welded in to cut the sound back

nope made it do it all over the rpms and made the interior drone insane.

so tonight figured hell lets cut the mag off and see how it sounds ive got a couple friends running no cats with bullets on there camaro with no cam and sound good .

NOPE its even worse its like a old ford truck with 1.5 inch daul piping and glasspacks. i cant stand this ****.

im ordering LPP's or some sort of long tube. what exhuast without a doubt will not do this and just have a nice mean no popping cracking noise and with cutouts ill take care of having fun.

please help. i took video on my blackberry but dont know how to load on here

I have the same prob, under part throttle @ 3k. I am running a single 4 inch with a bullet.. You might need to run a diff style muffler or put some type of baffle at the end of the pipe, to change the exhaust flow at the tip.. I opt to add a magnaflow bullet about 8 inches from the end to break up the exhaust flow, but havn't put it on yet...

yes its a stock tune. when it shifts dearrr godd its horrible a loud bang burping noise lol. but i plugged my buddys superchips in awhile back and it made it go away i heard its cause it backs the throttle off.

but anyways yes it was a magnaflow. the noise is unbearable i serious am embarrassed to drive my truck.

im thinking about a LPP with the y pipe and running a normal extended cab single 3 inch corsa sport catback. cause im sure the kit cost more for the SS dual piping and plus i dont wanna any bullshit muffler shop crink bends and shitty wleds anymore a nice bolt together kit

Mine did that on the 1-2 shift. But I think it had to do with the trans slipping or something, not sure. I try to avoid too many 1-2 WOT shifts as I've heard that's what really destroys the 60e

I'm going the 80e route, which is what the truck should come with stock.

The term "built 60e" is an oxymoron to me, but that's just my opinion on the matter.
