Default Please Review my Ls1 edit File!!!!

Hey guys, my trucks computer has the whipple piggy back computer and also the whipple programmer installed on it. my ls1 file looks fishy to me and i need you help. Does anything look wierd about it to you? Ive been real dissapointed about my supercharger from the start cause i could tell no difference in power. (the whipple programmer is suppose to reduce torque management also)
So if you would, visit my website, www.geocities.com/superchargedfool , and click on the link at the top.
thanks guys, Drew

It does reset the TQ reduction % to 0. I'm not sure if that is the only thing that needs to be changed though.

The low octane timing table looks kinda low in the upper gm/cyl range. I don't know if you get up in that range or not though. High octane timing looks Ok. I did notice that your 2-3 shift point is low at 5200rpm. That may be stock for a 4*4 but, I think you would notice a big difference going to say 5600-5800rpm on both the 1-2 and 2-3 shift.

I noticed your idle speeds are raised a bit also. They probably do that to help compensate for the extra drag from the blower belt.

What part of it looked fishy?

my truck has a mysterious hesatation from 2500 rpms to 3000. has always had it since ive been supercharged. i also noticed my max torque was at 350. will this affect anything?
I am not throwing codes but it does show my engine misfiring in random cilenders when im about 1500 rpms. at around this rpm, i hear a funny sound that sounds like a criket, but i swear it is coming from the supercharger. I wonder if it is picking up false misfires?

Also im not sure of what you meant by your firt sentence "It does reset the TQ reduction % to 0. I'm not sure if that is the only thing that needs to be changed though" is something wrong???
Thanks for your fast response! Drew

The torque reduction % table in your LS1edit file is set to 0. When the computer wants to pull timing because of excessive torque it can't since all the percentages are set to 0. I was just saying I didn't know whether that was the only table that needed to be changed to completely get rid of torque management. Sorry, I wasn't more clear in my first post. I'm not sure if the 350 max torque is a problem with the torque reduction% table is set to 0.

Ok, got some questions.

Are you talking about WOT between 2500 and 3000 rpm or just cruising at those rpms?

If you're talking about WOT how much boost do you see down that low?

What do your O2 readings look like?

The Whipples seem to be some touchy suckers. Maybe somebody who has one will be able to diagnose your problems better. I don't know much about them and how they interact with the different systems on the truck.

The cricket sound could be something simple like a belt or tensioner.

How much boost are you running and what are the outside temps like down there in TX. Superchargers HATE heat and the Whipples suffer worse since they don't have an intercooler. By the time you figure the hp loss from heat you probably didn't gain much horsepower if you're running say 5-7psi. The Whipples really need an intercooler, water/alky injection, or nitrous to help cool the charge air back down.

ok... i also notice below where it says max torque as 350, it says abuse test mode if 1600 rpms. this is when i hear the noise.

it hesitates when under any kind of boost inbetween 2500 to 3000rpms. if i gun it i produce about 5 psi at that rpm.

I dont know what my o2 readings should look like?
Ive seen them before up dont know what they should be.

your Probobly suffering from some heat soak with the whipple in the texas heat
Also torque management go to slowcar.net's LS1 Edit guide

How can I permanently remove Torque Management?
Go to transmission -> A4 Shift Firmness -> Torque reduction and zero out the table
Trans Cal -> A4 Shift Firmness -> Upshift Torque reduction - zero out the values
Engine -> Ignition -> Max Torque. Set it to 1000
Engine -> Ignition -> Torque Reduction. Zero it out.
try that out Looks like the whipple computer tuning does't get rid of your tqm
you should try running some race gas in it and see how it responds
also what are you plugs gapped too and what plugs are you using in it

Engine -> Ignition -> Max Torque. Set it to 1000

I saw Ken Kelly comment on this a month or so ago. he said set the max at 639 because of a software issue. Some people say no probs with it though. That's what I set mine at now.

I would Switch to one heat range colder Something like a NGK TR6 gapped t .35 for your truck
might notice that those missfires go away
