I run 50/50 and have never had a cooling problem.

For best heat transfer water+ redline water wetter works good, I use that in my dirtbikes where anti-freeze protection is not of importance. Otherwise at least 25-30% dexcool + water. The more anti-freeze you add the less heat transfer ability you have. All has pretty much been said above.

I just did a water pump on my 2001 Silvy, buy either the pre mixed AF or buy pure AF and distilled water and mix yourself.

I used to run straight water wetter in mine... I have switched to 50/50 mix with distilled water but it ran cooler with the water wetter straight...

Running 100% coolant is a HORIBLE idea!
Water cools much more efficantly and 100% is best for everything but two reasons. One it freezes. Secondly it will rust your motor and currode everything. Enough ANTI-FREEZE(the real name, it isn't coolant) to keep it from freezing is your best setup for coolest performance.

The reason 50/50 is most common is because it covers those properties. Currosion resistance, freeze protection, yet plenty of water for enough cooling.

lol....

A long time ago when i used to work in Dallas, my mustang overheated in traffic and I was late to work so I had about 10 half empty Dr. Pegger bottles floating around in my car, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, i poured all of them in the radiator.... Needless to say i ended buying a new radiator, heater core and replacing all the hoses shortly after that... The smell was unbearable...
