Poll: Which cam for LS1 swap?
Which cam for my LS1 build-up w/stage 2 5.3 Patriot heads?
FMS Cam Lobes:
-(F2)224/224-.588/.588-112
or
-221/221-.575/.575-112
or
-218/218-.575/.575-112
My goal is good torque all over the power-band, especially down low-saying that I mean I still want as much torque as a stock LS1 in the very low rpms.. I tow a big ATV and a fishing boat. Other mods with be all bolt-ons I have now, including the 3.90 gears. I also plan on adding a 2400 stall later on. I just want something that won't "Bog Down" in the low rpms (800-1500rpms).
I've been looking at dyno charts with the "smaller" LS1 cams, like the 220/220, 224/224, etc. These things are making around 300-315rwtq at 2200-2500rpms! That's more than my peak at 4000rpms! What do you guys think? The 224/224 is what I really want to run, but I'm scared I might loose to much low-end in my ext. cab. Is the 224/224 okay for what I want or should I consider going a little bit smaller?

I vote either the F2 or a TR224. That cam has proven itself many a times. Scream loves his TR224 in his LS1. You should hit him up and chat with him about the powerband on it. But from what I have seen there havent been any complaints on the 224. You might lose some down low with that cam. But you might also want a bit more converter for it too. But in a heavy truck it might be a good idea to kick things down a bit and try the 221/221 or a 222/222. But again, its not much smaller than a 224.

Also, what do ya'll think the rwhp/rwtq would be with the cams and mods listed?
