Poll: LS1 vs. 6.0
For the LS1, 224/224-112 FMS cam, stage 2 5.3 heads (Milled .010 & ~11.2:1 compression), all bolt-ons, dyno-tune.
For the 6.0, 224/224-112 FMS cam, stock heads, all bolt-ons, dyno-tune.
-same cam
-higher compression in the LS1
-18 more ci in the 6.0
~80 pounds lighter for the LS1
Which one would you choose for a daily driver and why? Given the mods listed are they pretty much even?
I'm getting right at 16mpg in the cammed 5.3 right now. How much would that change with these motors?

I've already got the LS1. A 383 sounds tempting, but that's like $1500 more in parts, a new tranny which is at least $1000. I can barely afford what I plan on doing right now! I've already got almost everything for the LS1 except the headwork and the cam. I'm still debating on maybe getting a slightly used 6.0 if I can find one for a good price. I guess one has it's advantages over the other. Still trying to decide...
