ok i dont really know the whole scoop on this, but i do know that he is clueless as to what it is. i figured if anyone would know it would be the people here. please dont let me down!

sounds like a rod to me pull the sparkplug wires off one at a time if its a rod bearing the knock will go away. if it aint to bad. thats what i did when i spun a rod bearing in my honda. mine would knock when you would rev it up but when you let off and the eng reved down it wouldn't knock.

There was milky stuff in the catch can, milky foam on the oil cap, a bunch of sludge on the top of the valve covers, and it is eating up coolant. It is a head gasket for sure, but we are trying to find out if any one knows what might be wrong with out having to tare it down to nothing. I have told him to start shoping for a 6.0.

This is the cheapest I've seen a LQ9 for, plus you get a transmission.
