Anybody know what the 5.3l truck fuel pump flow rate is? I want to install a higher rate fuel pump on my Porvette.
The list is still growing......
Carrera turbo lost his lunch.
New Camaro....please
Dodge Charger.....another snoozefest

YES, I left the NA (NON TURBO) radiator and stock fans in place. I modded a Siverado Truck T-stat to remain open and still plug the rear port and it cools beautifully. This winter I stuck in a 180 T-stat to get the heat quick and she will burn your toes. Last week I just reinstalled a brand new (unmodded) 160 degree T-stat and she cools perfectly as well.... I want to get a little more power from just a cam swap and still get the best gas mileage possible....any ideas?
+1 on the list.....Pontiac G8 got his feelings hurt a few days ago as well....

lil update
Haven't visited in a while. Just posting an update. I have well over 7K miles on the swap now and couldn't be happier with this motor. A few weeks back I installed a bigger intake, a Z06 cam, and then the Turbo (951) trans with the taller 5th gear from the NA trans.....I can't believe I didn't have to retune after the cam. I pegged the speedo on this thing and the 5.3 pushes it up there with no problems, except I had to remove the wipers and turn my mirrors in LOL. And that was before I installed a Jantzer Performance Ported TB. The TB makes it rev ALOT faster and 5th gear hiway pull is alot stronger after I added it. Also I can bust the tires loose in the taller Turbo 3rd gear now. I also built my own custom 4340 chromoly axles useing Type 2 cv's as the type 4 Porsche CV's are not as strong. I also got rid of another 60-70 lbs from the back seat and under carpet, so I'm right at 2900 lbs and have seat mod to go.... I also designed a set of Wilwood Superlite adapters using MASSIVE Porsche Cayenne rotors with even more nasty stopping power.... Designed my own Polyurethane strut inserts because the strut mounts are cheesy even with the 4-banger...Then I got trickey and designed my own short-shifter kit using Teflon-lined heim joint....30% reduction is perfect...

Get the 951 trans, 1st gear is usable and it has the stronger 3.375 Ring and Pinion (NA = 3.89 R&P), and swap in the taller NA 5th gear. It is easy to do as it hangs off the back side of the trans in it's own cover.
Before with the NA trans in 5th gear doing 70mph, I was turning 3200 RPM.
With the 951 trans and NA 5th 70mph = 2700 (285-30-18 rears)
Also I have taken it on a few long trips and this motor trans combo knocks down a solid 29-30 mpg ( I spike my gas with acetone)in this lightweight car. I built an entire swap kit for a guy in S. Carolina that is doing the exact swap using the 4.8L and he will report MPG's soon.
Looking back I think this is what has really made this 5.3l a contender with the 944 swap.....
Oh yeah, shave another 10 lbs with hood pins....
