how much extra hp would a stage 2 head give me with a 216/220 .525/.532 114lsa cam, 918 springs and 1.85 rockers. running it up to 6300rpms?

im debating if i should get new heads or just do a cam/spring/rocker swap.

i just cant see spending the money, unless it is really worth it.

and what should i ask when looking at used rockers?

Hey Lance, you will probably realize much more power with the cam/head combo than the cam only. The truck heads have a smaller intake valve than the car models so no matter how much longer the valve is staying open it will still be a bottleneck.
Down side is the cost of the head work. Plan on close to $1000 for the stage 2 stuff or go all out on some stage 3 items from AFE or the like. It bumps the cost up to around $1600 but you would then have a much nicer platform for any future cam or engine upgrades.

i found used around 1000 and new around 1200. im not sure on how much more building of the truck i will be doing after the cam and heads. probably just a 100 shot. then it will be about time to replace the rear end and tranny because they will blow up. how much total hp would i gain with stage 2 heads, the cam and springs. rockers might just have to wait if i get a set of heads

300 cam
gaskets 1??
pushrods ???

just seems that probably once the project gets done i will have almost 2000 invested.

Hey man, if your gonna do heads & cam, I say go with some more lift on the cam. Something like in the .55x-.57x range at least. It should make a lot of power either way though.
