I removed the screen and all the crud in the middle. Basically it looks like a Granatelli MAF..

I had the MAF opened on my truck for a while but, my brother wanted to try it on his. And I guess your right about all vehicles being different.

What do you mean by "all the crud in the middle" . I removed the screen,only,in mine.

i'll tell you that i've done the testing of a maf with and without a screen. you may have picked up some fuel milage, but you've also likely slowed the truck down. guys are running the stock maf with 6.0L's that have a radix and a cam. is your naturally asperated 4.8L flowing that much air that it was a restriction?

Gained 2mpg cause its likely running lean. I have a stock MAF I can dig out to sell. Unless you are gonna do some tuning after you toy with the mass air. Do not play with it. I think you have a long long way to go before the screen even becomes a restriction.

I descreened my maf on my 5.3 and did notice a slight power increase and better mpg
