Ported and Polished Heads
I have a 07 classic ecsb with a 4.8 and i have the opportunity to buy a set of ported and polished heads for $500 price was originally $1000. I do know for a fact that i am ordering a 224/224/ 588/588 with a 110 or 112 lsa. My question is will the ported and polished heads make that big of difference? O did i mention i am spraying 100 to 150 shot as well

that cam is to big for a 4.8 IMO and so is a 150 shot. you cant just throw parts at something hoping it will perform. search around there is alot of useful info on this site. BlackGMC has done big things with a 4.8! He will tell you as well, bigger is not always better especially when it comes to cams.
Which 5.3 heads are they? casting number anything...also which 918 spring, old or new?

I would think for the 4.8 in a ecsb something in the 21x 21x duration 55x-58x lift with P&P heads would be a good cam. As far as nitrous goes you wouldnt want to spray a 150 shot unless tuned for it with the right setup. I am definitely not a expert by any means on nitrous but there is alot more to it than most people think. I think a 100 shot would be the max I would ever run on a 4.8

i agree with sonoma43... the 21x cam will give you more low end.. the 224 your not goin to have much low end, your power is goin to be in the higher rpms.
id start at 75 shot and go from there.
WHo does your tuning?
