Porting Throttle Body HELP!

Porting Throttle Body HELP!
Hey guys I have the TB off the truck, and I thought there would be some type or ridge or something to remove behind the blade but there isn't, so where do I need to port at? Also there was tons of black **** all around where the blade closes, no wonder it was sticking sometimes. If anybody has a sticking TB take it off and clean it. Please tell me where to grind before I go crazy with the Dremel. Thanks. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: Porting Throttle Body HELP!
go crazy with the dremel...that's what i did. the ridge is in front of the blade on my tb...well it use to be...i ported the entire thing all the way around...just stay away from right where the blade sits when closed...i even got it behind the blade on the flat round part. i ported the hell out of mine...the walls are thin now and it has a nice cone shape going into the manifold. go to one of the sponsor pages and look at a ported one and try to match your's to that...that's what i did.

Re: Porting Throttle Body HELP!
you wont notice so much of a power/performance gain really...but it will make a big difference in throttle response and such. do you have an aftermarket intake tube(fipk, upd, etc.) i ported mine when i got the UPD and it all together made a small difference in sotp feel...but nothing huge.
GOOD LUCK!!!
