Is it possible 4.8+LS1?
I hate my slow *** stock truck...I want some pep and possibly some resale value. I found a LS1 bottom end (short block ish, has everything but the heads)that needs the crank turned and a bearing kit plus honed for 400 bucks. Will my heads and exc bolt on? Should i swap my cam? Is any of what i'm saying possible lol? I can do some rewiring, im not a complete idiot, i just put a geo motor in a 1st gen toyo mr2 (buddy was broke and had a blown motor) and it required some rewiring, but it was the exact same motor. This is different. maybe some one can give me a list of things i will need or even if this is possible or am i just talking out of my as$. So, first oil pan? will 4.8 headers bolt to a ls1? intake? heads? ls1 car cam to my truck? or should i just go buy some nitrus?

awesome. pan from 4.8 headers from 4.8 and heads from 4.8... how about intake? LS1 or 4.8(motor is off of trans am isnt the intake a ls6 intake)? with the bigger cam wont i need bigger valve springs and such? and my truck is a drive by wire bs, how will this affect the swap?

ok, sorry, i was just getting excited. I guess my bike is going on craigslist tomorrow (unless its a miracle and my income tax check comes in the mail when i need it to) so for prolly 1200ish total with me dropping it in.(ls1=400, cams=500, and machine shop=?)
around 350ish horse? if i cant find a ls6 cam how much difference is a lq4/lq9 cam? what year ls6 cam? the 01' or the 02'/z06 cam? the 02's cam needs alot to achieve its potential!

the 5.3/4.8 block is the same.
you will want to have it machined to the 5.7 specs, and then if you want, use a factory 5.7 rotating assy if you are just wanting a 5.7.
or, like myself, I am going to go with a forged 347 out of my 5.3, unless I can score a 5.7 block CHEAP.
I have a complete 6.0 sitting here I want to sell, cause ive thought about the 408 stroker, but I would like to see how bad I can make this 5.3...lol

lower gears and a nice stall will bring out more in it too.
You will be smiling after that.
If not, there is always a maggie or turbo.
