Predator Speedo calib. see if this makes sense to you?
Im trying to figure out what the hell is goin on with my Predator. Ever since i got my lift my speedo has been WAY off even when i changed the axle ratio and actual tire size. When i had the setting to 4.56, 275/60/16 stock tire, and 315/75/16 actual tire...my speedo was 20 mph too fast. Well, this was screwing with my downshift points plus adding a hell of alot of miles on my truck in no time. So i kept screwing with it and screwing with it, and nothing really seemed to change much except for maybe 5 or so MPH.
Then i said, screw it, i'll just set it back to stock and just have a slow MPH readout. Well i set everything back to 3.73 and 275/60/16 and can you believe it, it actually is almost dead on the money! I havent had someone pace me yet and see exactly how far it is off...but it seems like its right on it. Why would the stock settings give me an accurate speedo vs. inputing the new gear and tire size in the Predator? Is something screwed up with it, or is the Predator's speedo calibration just not worth a crap?
BTW, not on the subject but i raised my Upshift points to 5700 rpm. It feels like i gained a little bit by SOTP but i was wondering if it was actually helping anything with the few mods i have "see sig".

I programed my tires from 265/75/16 to 285/75/16 and under 55 it is about 2 mph slow. It was actually correct with the stock settings.I raised my Revlimiter to 6000 in 1st and 6000 in second and I actually gained about .2 at the track manually shifting about 5800. I could tell the difference imeditally if I shifted to early.

6000 rpm? I didnt even think the powerband reached that high on the stock cam, so i should be alright with 5700 or should i experiment with 6000? I have my shift time setting to -5% for first to second and third to forth. And i think my line pressure is set to -5% too. I dont know how high i can go on the line pressure without getting it too high, but just changing the upshift from 5600 to 5700 i can tell i lost a little shift firmness. On one to two shift it feels almost like its slipping a little, i can deffenitely tell a difference though in the way the RPM's fall down after shift. It seems like it's stayin in peak torque more and im gaining a little more MPH after the first to second shift. My rev limiter is set to 6490 rpm, although i never go that high thats where the predator program put it.
