Question programmer?

i have a 2000 silverado w/ a 5.3. i have put headers, dual exhaust, k&n filter, and a hypertech programmer into it. i am thinking of changing my cam to gmpp part #12560950 it's specs are duration @ .050" 207/217 lift .525"/.525". hypertech says the programmer will not compensate for the increased lift and duration. what is a better programmer or would it be better to go to a dyno somewhere and if so any idea where one is around pittsburgh? i live about 45 min outside of pittsburgh in wv. any help would be awsome

a custom tune will be needed to make the most out of a cam install. you will also need to do at least some ls6 springs with that cam also.for the most part i believe it will run but i think the only thing you will be able to use is the shift points with the hyper.

I'm currently using it and it's great. Truck was a dog after the cam swap, now it's actually fun to drive. Bumped my idle up 50 rpm and compensated for the larger 02 6.0 injectors I swapped in (99's have 21 lb injectors, 00 and up are 24.7). I went with one of the pre-set cam profile tunes and played around with timing and fuel a little bit too. Hardened up the shifts and increased shift points.Great customer service too...I give it two thumbs up.
