Pros & Cons of Autotrac & Manual shift Transfer Case
Just wondering what you can tell me the differences are besides autotrac is push button and the manual is a shift on the floor.
With the manual, can you shift on the fly?
thanks

i dont know how much the autotrack costs but it is a nice feature. you can hit the auto button and leave it there all winter if you want. the 4wd is there when you need it and not when you dont. it even seems to be a strong case, if you ever really start to push it 4hi works better than auto.

Fluid.....it uses GM Autotrac II fluid, the same fluid that is recommended as a replacement fluid in ALL new GM tranfer cases, and it's only $4.16 a quart

i currently have a hd case from a 2500 but in my last truck i ran the autotrack with no problems at all. whipple at 10psi and a 100shot at the end. i was in the 500-600rwhp range.

i had an HD case for the 4l80e, i didn't have an autotrack that would just bolt on. the hd case is rated for twice the tq of an autotrack but no one has killed an autotrack that i know of.
