Default PS LTs on my Corsa touring-Lets talk a little about loud and raspy

OK
Umm
It's Unbelievable!

I have some video, but won't get it on untill tomorrow.

I floored it under a bridge and scared myself!

I have read all about this issue, but was hoping it would be a little better with my setup.

Just a little over 3000 and it's very raspy. did I say very raspy? WOW, oh and loud too.

I have had other vehicles with headers before, but this easily takes the cake for most obnoxious.

The power feels good, I haven't tuned it yet , but it's running fine.
low end seems better than before.

This thing sounded great before the headers. now it sounds fukn crazy.

I have read all about different resonators, but they only help some. Is there a proven setup that will sound good with these headers?

Oh, and it's loud and raspy!

well are you running a cat at all? I'm assuming that you aren't since you ditched the stock y pipe. cats would help a lot, I personally don't really know which brand specifically would help the most but I have had good luck with magnaflow cats. My last truck had the 454 vortec, I had mesa long tubes with an ORY, 2 magnaflow cats, and 2 flowmaster 40's, 2.5" all the way through, and it went from pretty f'in loud to not too bad at redline. anyone else have a better suggestion?

Now you know. The same setup isn't objectionable to me. Perception thing I guess. Mine's quiet 'till you step on it and then is progressively louder as the rpm goes up. You can barely hear it at cruise. I'm not trying to sneak up on anybody when my foot's in it though. Mine exits behind the rt rear tire. Same tail pipe as yours? Also, I'd bet just about any performance exhaust is attention getting under a bridge.

You're going to have to put a pretty serious (and maybe restrictive) muffler under that thing to keep it quiet with high rpm and a heavy foot....unless you figger a way to do away with the ory and add the cats back in.

The volume is not really a problem.
I don't mind it getting louder as it revs. It sounds great before it gets raspy.
It's the extremely sharp snap, rap sound that comes in as you get around 3000 rpm.

Anyone with a proven single exit system that defeats most of this rasp?

If I am going to "try" anything:
I will not cut the corsa tubing.
I will consider removing the tail pipe and adding something after the corsa muffler.
I might replace the corsa muffler with a different one.

These things are made of 14K gold ya know!

Looking for proven setups if anyone has one.

Let me check the current gold prices!

I can't say I didn't know this could happen, but I had to try it.

I actually may end up with my corsa for sale.
Way too early to give up right now.

Joe, you got any 3" mufflers laying around?

I have the touring on my truck too, and my pacesetters are on the way. I'm gonna keep my cats though. Thats probably a big factor in the raspy tone your gettin, no cats. When can you post up the vid?
