Default Pulley and Tune for Joe Gibbs Silverado

My 04 JGP Silverado has a 4.8L supercharged engine with the stock 3.9'' blower pulley. Ive seen other guys saying their trucks came stock with something smaller like a 3.7 or 3.6. How much boost should I be making with a 3.9 pulley?

I want to upgrade to a smaller pulley. What is a safe amount of boost for the 4.8l? I'm assuming not more than 10 lbs, but I'm not sure how high I can go before I have to worry about something breaking prematurely.

Obviously, I am going to need a tune after the pulley. Nelson performance seems to be the way to go. Any opinions?
