pulling 2nd too high??*VIDEO*
i know its multimedia but its still a performance question...
after watching this video it sounds like i could be trying to hold 2nd for too long...it just sounds dead at a certain point and ive never noticed it from inside the truck. maybe i could pull 1st a little farther? what do yall think?

It's difficult to hear your truck. It sounds like you could shift later in 1st and sooner in 2nd. I'm sure you know this already...if you don't feel your truck pulling anymore, you've shifted too late. Did you manually shift your truck in the video?

i manually shifted the truck on the 2-3 shift so i have no clue exactly what rpm it was at. its tuned to shift 2-3 at 6000 rpm but the tach only makes it to 5800 before the shift and i think it has just a lil more in it. i manually shifted when the tach hit the 6k mark.

it well could be the position of your truck with respect to the camera. It would be interesting to see if it had the same "dead spot" sound if it wasn't passing the camera just as it was coming to the top of second. I only say this because you said you couldn't hear this problem from within the cab.

Or was that just 1st gear you had him raise the shift points on?

The stock tach is a little slow so if you shifted at 6K on the tach then you probably shifted anywhere around 64-6500 or even more. When I first got my tune before I modded heavily I thought that Allen didn't set my shift right because on the stock tach it was only showing about 5600 but I was actually turning to 58 or 5900 I can't remember. Now the tach only sits at 6K for only less than a second and shifts are set at 6600 or so...Zed
